Leslie McFadden prides herself on being efficient when it comes to her job. As a former personal finance reporter and editor, she is skilled at doing thorough research, writing clearly and meeting tight deadlines. Leslie joined her husband Brian at Citi Habitats after realizing that her creative and organizational talents would not only help her excel in real estate, but complement his background in customer service and sales. As a team, Brian and Leslie offer a well-rounded set of skills to clients looking to buy, sell or rent their next home in New York City.
Her personal approach to real estate comes from previous experience. As someone who has moved nearly every year since she started college, including a move from Florida to New York, Leslie understands how stressful an apartment search can be, especially with the wrong real estate agent. She takes special care in guiding her clients through the process, and works hard so their move doesn't have to be.
Leslie specializes in the Upper East Side where she resides, but knows and has lived in a variety of other neighborhoods, including the Financial District, Roosevelt Island and Long Island City in Queens.
Prior to real estate, Leslie worked as a personal finance reporter, blogger, editor and columnist for Bankrate.com, where she specialized in credit card and credit score-related topics. In addition to writing and editing popular articles and columns, she has given numerous media interviews and received awards from The Society of Professional Journalists for deadline reporting and the Society of American Business Editors and Writers for financial reform coverage.
Leslie is originally from the small town of Lake City, Florida. She graduated from the University of Florida in Gainesville with two bachelor's degrees in English and psychology. Outside of real estate, Leslie enjoys reading and writing fiction, going to wine tastings, exploring New York and discovering new clothing boutiques.
