Steps to Becoming a Licensed Real Estate Salesperson in the State of New York:
  1. Complete the 75 hour course requirements with the real estate school of your choice. Although we cannot recommend one real estate school over another, you can obtain a list of qualifying schools by contacting the New York Department of State Licensing division at 518-474-4429 or you may also reach them via the web at: http://www.dos.state.ny.us/LCNS/realest.html. We are also happy to provide you with a list, please email us at hr@citi-habitats.com to obtain a complete list of qualifying schools.

  2. Pass the real estate school examination. Please be aware that it can take approximately two to four weeks to register for the NY State exam, so we suggest that you book the exam day at or around the same day that you commence your 75 hour course. Or alternatively you can register to take the State exam in Albany or Long Island as registration time is less than one week. Here is the e-Access link to the Department of State: http://www.dos.state.ny.us/lcns/realestate/index.html, please note that the department of state has gone paperless and all exam registrations, change of associations and results are obtained online.
