Each month, Citi Blog will profile a new Citi Habitats agent.  We will ask them 20 questions about their background, hobbies and real estate career.  This month, the spotlight's on Tami Wasserman of the West 72nd Street Office...

 

Q. Where were you born and raised?

 

I was born in New York City but raised in the San Diego area and then back in New York City

Q. What sports teams do you root for?

 

The only sports I enjoy watching are the Olympics and Sumo wrestling

 

Q. Where do you live now?

 

East Village

 

Q. What’s one of your guilty pleasures?

 

Karaoke, cupcakes

Q. Big family? Small family? Tell us a little about ‘em

 

I come from a small family; half of us live in New York City and the other half in Mexico.  My extended family is scattered all over the globe.

 

Q. What’s your funniest/most interesting “on the job” experience?

 

I once showed a man an apartment that he used to live in and he rented it!

 

Q. How would your mother describe you?

 

Hard-working, fun-loving, with many interests outside of work

 

Q. What’s the motto you try and live by?

 

Relax and enjoy it

Q. What was your first job?

 

Teaching

Q. What advice would you share with newcomers in the real estate field?

 

Hang in there!

Choir, photography club, orchestra

 

Q.  What made you pursue a career in real estate?

 

Pure chance

Q. What college did you attend? Tell us a little about the experience?

 

Tufts University where I double majored in political science and Asian Studies

 

Q. What is your ‘nerdiest’ tendency?

 

All my tendencies are nerdy but if I have to choose a few - Crosswords and word games, trivia

Q. What actor would play you in your autobiography?

 

Julia Louis-Dreyfus

 

Q. What’s your favorite place you’ve travelled to?

 

Too many to name; a few are Japan, Thailand, Vietnam

Q. What’s your favorite New York City neighborhood?

 

The East Village and the Upper West Side – my current neighborhood and my former neighborhood

 

Q. Who is your hero, or someone you admire greatly?

 

Too many to name!

Q. Finish the sentence:  If I wasn’t a superstar real estate broker, I would be…

 

A photojournalist

 

Q. What’s your favorite/least favorite smell?

 

New York in Springtime, New York in August

 

Q. Do you have a hidden talent?

 

Photography, but I use it all the time!

 

Q. What’s your favorite movie?

 

Raising Arizona, Dazed & Confused

Q. What song do you have a hard time getting out of your head once it’s there?

 

“Party all the Time” – it’s awful and very catchy

 

Q. What’s your favorite NYC restaurant?

 

Too many to name, I eat out A LOT

 

Q. What’s your favorite/least favorite part about living in NYC (or the vicinity)?

 

Fantastic public transportation and amazing food, high prices (of everything)

 

Q. What’s your favorite building in New York… residential or otherwise?

 

The castle in Central Park

Q.  What achievement in your career are you most proud of?

 

That I get to work with many of the same clients and their friends over and over again

 

Q. What has been the highlight of your life so far?

 

Living abroad in Tokyo, London and Mexico.  I like adventures…

Q. If NYC was to fall of the map, where would you relocate?

 

Tokyo

 

Q.  Where do you see yourself 10 years from now?

 

I don’t know, I don’t have a crystal ball
