As the Managing Director of Citi Habitats’ Gramercy office, Patti Avella constantly keeps up to date on New York City market trends. More importantly, Patti is devoted manager who loves her job.
"Working is my hobby. If I’m not traveling, then I’d rather be at work," Patti says.
After an established career on Wall Street as a government bond broker, Patti tried her hand at real estate. Having bought and sold property of her own, she thought becoming an agent would be a smooth transition for her, and it certainly turned out to be.
In her first seven months as a sales agent in 1999, Patti sold four waterfront houses in the Hamptons. Patti worked a full five day schedule in Manhattan and would spend her weekends working in West Hampton. In May of 2000, Patti became the assistant to the Director of Sales at Citi’s corporate office, and after a year and a half, she was promoted to the Sales Manager of five downtown Citi offices.
Now, Patti manages one office and oversees 80 sales agents. "The training, support and opportunities here are amazing. We invest in talented people and I’m happy to work with such outstanding individuals," she says.
Patti’s committed agents look to her for support and advice on building their careers, and everyday Patti is there to provide them with whatever they need to make them succeed. (
